RE-E-POWER continues to be among the most innovative and progressive electric propulsion companies in the world.
Presently, there is no other company in the world with the number of units of this type or caliber in the water.
The number of years in business coupled with the experience in the REAL world with REAL motors under REAL conditions sets RE-E-POWER apart in many REAL ways.
There is no doubt that the marine environment is a harsh one. Having a motor system that you can depend on when the conditions get tough is of utmost importance to the safety of you and your family. While some of our experience has been learned the hard way and at great cost, we have resolved to provide the highest quality products, components, and systems on the market.
Along with the marine environment, the business market is presently just as harsh. It is hard for any company of any size to remain afloat these days. Contrary to popular belief the electric vehicle market is still very speculative in the U.S.A. Some large companies have given up on their marine propulsion divisions due to a lack of return on their huge investments. Because RE-E-POWER has chosen to remain small and flexible it can weather the current economic storm without complete collapse.

If you have ANY questions or concerns about the company I would like to invite you to send us an email and ask.
We HAVE had some issues with the motors in the past and those issues are resolved.
In some ways we had to take some steps back but we have our momentum moving forward again and have every confidence that our new line of motors and the design features are the best they can possibly be.

Where are we?
Where are we going?
How do we get there from here?

As a company, RE-E-POWER has completely re-tooled to provide a product that is far better than previously offered. The original motors were built in the U.S. by another company under contract to make them per our specifications. However that company let us down in many ways. Things are very different now. We have a great deal more control over quality and components now that we are doing much more of the assembly ourselves. We truly believe that we can offer a superior product that is far advanced from any other on the market today.

Where are we going?
Here are just a few things on the horizon as we plot or course. We are pleased to now offer a brushless version of some of the motors. Along with this we will soon be offering a COMPLETELY STAINLESS STEEL POD!
Yes, a pod that is completely stainless (with the exception of the nose and tail cone fairings). This option does add considerably to the cost and time of production, but I'm sure that there will be some folks who are living aboard who will appreciate the added assurance that the motor pod will outlast their boats useful life.
Our new modular design allows us to exchange various types of motors into the pod for more flexibility and a greater degree of customization for special projects. Along with this is the ease to have the motor serviced by a local motor shop or to carry a motor core as a spare.
The original motors were supposed to be able to handle 100 amps continuously. They didn't. The new ones however DO!
Corrosion resistance has been a major development as well. Many changes have been made to assure that electrolic corrosion will no longer be an issue.
We also look forward to technology of various type being integrated into our systems over the coming years. Using wifi controls and coupling the motors with the computer systems on some larger vessels will make the interface between captain and components a much more comfortable experience.
What else?
Wind generators. Yes. We have a design of our own that uses an axial flux generator. This product will be produced almost entirely in house. These generators will be unique in the marine market because they are VAWT (Vertical Axis Wind Turbine) designed. The blades are mounted vertically. One of the biggest problems we've seen on our own boats is that a "propeller" type (Horizontal axis) wind turbine seems to "search" for the wind all the time in gusty conditions. This is exasperated by the pitching and rolling of a boat in heavy conditions. A VAWT doesn't "fish" for the wind. It can change directions 20 times a minute and the VAWT will keep spinning. We should have this wind generator available in 12, 24, 36, and 48 volt versions by the first of the year with 72 volt and larger output models available by spring of 2011.

How will we get there?
We will get there by remaining committed to the project. Our resolve is stronger than ever and our confidence is high that we will come out of this current slump with a strong position in the market and with ALL of our customers (past and present) taken care of. We will get there with customers who are willing to share in that commitment with us and make this innovation a success.
I want to thank the MANY MANY customers who send me letters of support and encouragement and express their satisfaction with their motor systems. And a very special thanks to Adel on "Rose Bud" who has recently told me she has over 3000 miles on her motor.
